Why Zone Technique?

Most people think of chiropractic care as something that helps with neck or back pain. While chiropractic is excellent at relieving pain, that’s only a small part of what it can offer. From its earliest days, chiropractic care has been used to help with a wide range of health concerns, including breathing difficulties, digestive issues, hormone imbalances, infertility, sleep problems, fatigue, and more. Today, doctors who use the Zone Technique are once again seeing powerful, life-changing results.

The Zone Technique was developed by Dr. Thurman Fleet in 1931. After reading a British edition of Gray’s Anatomy, he discovered correlations between specific brain centers and six distinct points on the back of the head. Dr. Fleet taught that, “There are only six kinds of disturbances that can affect the human body. These are Glandular, Eliminative, Nervous, Digestive, Muscular, and Circulatory. All diseased conditions, aches and pains, and other discomforts experienced by the body can be attributed to one or more of the above disturbances to the body’s six systems or Zones.”

During an adjustment, the chiropractor identifies which of the six Zones is imbalanced and delivers precise, gentle adjustments designed to restore balance to that system. By balancing these Zones, communication in the body is improved, allowing it to function the way it was designed to.

The legacy of Dr. Fleet continues through the work of Dr. Pete Goldman, who studied under several of Dr. Fleet’s direct students, including Dr. Kayata and Dr. Loofboro. In 2017, Dr. Goldman founded the Zone School of Healing to share this remarkable healing technique with chiropractors around the world.

At Salt & Light Chiropractic, we use the Zone Technique through prone-specific adjustments to address imbalances and help your body operate at its highest potential. Our goal is to support the body’s natural ability to heal and thrive—helping individuals and families live healthier, more connected lives.
